What mediums do you use for pet portraits?
I primarily create custom pet portraits in pastel or pencil. Oil or acrylic paintings available upon request.
What kind of photos do you need for a custom pet portrait?
The best photos for portraits show your animal's face with good lighting, sharp focus, and capture their personality or characteristic expression. Can you create memorial portraits of pets who have passed away?
Yes, I ‘d love to create beautiful memorial portraits that serve as lasting tributes to beloved pets who have crossed the rainbow bridge. All I need are a few photos that show enough details of their face and body to create a custom portrait.

Custom portrait sizes vary based on your preferences and the scope of the artwork. During the commission consultation, we'll discuss size options that work best for your space and budget. Sizes can be tailored to fit your specific needs, but 9x12 or 11x14 are popular options.

Yes, I create surface pattern designs combining paintings and digital illustrations into gorgeous repeating patterns perfect for fabric, home decor, and other applications. My surface pattern designs are available on Spoonflower and are also available for licensing.

Who is Bridget Greene?
I'm a professional fine artist, journalist, AI trainer, and devoted animal lover based in rural Rhode Island. I specialize in creating representational portraits of horses, dogs, and farm animals using pastels, oils, graphite, and colored pencils. My work aims to capture the soulful essence and unique personality of each animal I portray.
Where are you located?
My home studio is based in rural Rhode Island. My art is inspired by the serene farms and animals in my area. I raise two daughters along with two dogs, two goats, a thoroughbred horse and too many chickens with my husband, all of which influence my creative work.

What is your artistic background and training?
I studied art at the beginning of my college career before switching my major to Journalism. Over the past 20+ years, I've built a career as a reporter and editor while pursuing creative work. I'm an avid learner who continues to explore new techniques and mediums.
What awards or recognition have you received?
In 2024, my colored pencil drawing of an Andalusian Horse titled "A Quiet Moment" won Best in Show at my first juried art show, Save a Horse - Buy Art, held at the Essex Gallery in Connecticut.

My portraits go beyond simple likeness to capture the soul and personality of each animal. As both a professional artist and devoted animal lover, I understand how much your pet means to you. I've spent countless hours perfecting the art of portraying horses, dogs, and farm animals with emotional depth. Do you ship artwork nationwide?
Yes, I ship fine art prints, products, and completed custom commissions throughout the United States. All artwork is carefully packaged to ensure it arrives safely. Shipping details and costs are provided during checkout for shop items and discussed during the commission process for custom portraits.
How long does a custom commission take to complete?
Commission timelines vary based on the size, complexity, and medium of the portrait, as well as my current workload. In general, a 9x12 pastel portrait takes 15+ hours to complete using my multi-layered, detailed approach to portraits.
How can I stay updated on shop openings and new artwork?
The best way to stay informed is to sign up for the mailing list. Subscribers are the first to know when the art shop reopens, when new prints and products are available, and when commission spots open up. The shop typically opens several times per year with seasonal collections.
Can I purchase original paintings?
Original paintings are occasionally available through the art shop when it opens seasonally. Availability varies depending on my current collection. If you're interested in purchasing an original piece, sign up for the mailing list to be notified when originals become available, or inquire about commissioning a custom original portrait.
Do you participate in art shows, art fairs or exhibitions?
Yes, I occasionally participate in juried art shows and exhibitions, particularly in Rhode Island. Recent exhibitions include the Save a Horse - Buy Art show at Essex Gallery in Connecticut and I was a vendor at Equine Affaire in Massachusetts in November 2025.
